Hello all, it's been a while since my last post due to me not being in the right mind set. Just recently I got laid off from work and I have been jumping through hoops ever since with the financial system!!
The viking challenge.........did I ride it???? Well yes and erm..... no! I rode it, but did not actually enter the event as I could not justify spending money on entry fee's with my current situation! So I joined in from the viking way and completed the 50k loop, only stopping once to take this photo. Due to not paying entry fee's I decided that I would not stop at refreshment points, (not like I ever would :)) but enjoyed flying past as others watched on! I surprised myself at how strong I felt, no knee pain in my left leg and at times riding felt fluid like. I mean I could go fast and smooth with little effort!
The whole day was very enjoyable, the weather was dry and sunny. The trails were dry and fast, I must admit though that the wind was a bugger gusting at 40mph at times heading west over the old air field!
One thing is for sure, even though I am laid off work I still have a hobby of riding mountain bikes, and now I have more time for it! (pity it does not pay the bills lol).

About me
This blog is all about my life… my life of mountain biking and ideas I’ve acquired through the years. As an average everyday mountain biker, the learning doesn’t stop. I try to feed my mind in my own little way by writing and promoting this blog. I would like to share what I have learned through this blog with you. Let this blog be an additional resource for your mountain bike needs, and maybe you'll find some much needed ideas you may not have given much thought to before.
My name is Paul Walton, an engineer slave and spare time mountain biker/blogger. Blogging about mountain bikes has become and undying passion, spending most weekends and afternoons on the internet blogging. As well as riding bikes, writing about it also is what I love to do.

Glad to know you have been riding... sad to know you have been laid off from work :(
Hope things will turn around soon, but always keep riding ;)
Enjoy your (forced) vacations ;)
That's good! Your outlook in life is admirable despite the fact that you were laid off from work. Continue with your hobby. It will make fit and healthy, happy also.:)
That's a shame chap . If you want to go for a ride at some point during the weekdays let me know . I do most of my riding in the winter .
So sorry you were laid off from work! I am in the same boat, unfortunately. Though, like you, I am finding lots of time for hobbies. My blogging time has increased considerably! Alas, it doesn't pay the bills either. Good luck to you in the job search.
In being laid off I know that your riding is helping break the stress level. Keep it up and positive vibes your way.
That's sounds great. riding mountain by bikes. you are amazing. Good luck!
Bills are hard to pay, but keep riding that bike. Why not enter competitions to win prize money with that bike of yours. Sure you can do it. DO it cause you love it
Sorry you were laid of from work, but don't lose hope, right now I am also in your stage and my hobby is entirely on blogging and riding and gardening, it will be too hard to pay internet bills, other rents etc.. so you can participate in competitions or make some more money with blogs:) as i d.
